The Avid Mbox Pro Artist Bundle is an affordable, high-quality recording, editing, and mixing system. The package is based around Pro Tools 11 (Mac/Win), the industry-standard DAW software. Pro Tools 10 supports a wide range of workflows including music recording, post-production, scoring to picture, and more. It comes with over 70 sound-processing, effects and utility plug-ins; 6 virtual instruments; and an 8GB sound library.
The Pro Artist Bundle also includes the Mbox Pro, the flagship interface of the Mbox line. It offers FireWire connectivity along with 4 mic preamps, 2 instrument inputs, 4 line inputs and 6 line outputs, 2 channels of S/PDIF digital audio, MIDI I/O, Wordclock I/O, a built-in tuner, and more. The Mbox Pro can handle 8 channels of simultaneous input and output, and supports
up to 32-bit, 192 kHz audio.
The third component of the bundle is the Avid Artist Mix, an 8-fader control surface that provides a tactile mixing experience while offering many advanced integration features with Pro Tools. These include preprogrammed soft keys; selecting, soloing, muting, and arming tracks from the touchscreen; the ability to lock a fader to any Pro Tools track; and many more. The Artist Mix is equipped with 8 motorized, touch-sensitive, 100 mm, long-throw faders; 8 touch-sensitive rotary encoders; and 8 knob select/on keys. It supports EUCON, HUI, and Mackie Control protocols, and connects via Ethernet for high-speed, high-resolution control.
